Glen Ellyn, IL, USA—As part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations and improve response time in the international market, M&R is consolidating its European operations.
At the end of June, the branch in Austria will be merged into the Poland branch. According to M&R CEO, Rich Hoffman, the move is designed to improve customer service and product ship times while eliminating redundancy. “Austria was our first branch in Europe,” Hoffman said, “but it was soon overtaken in size and capability by our manufacturing, sales, and service operation in Poland, which was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2008.
“Ultimately, we found little reason to continue to operate a small sales and warehouse facility with a staff of six so close to the major facility in Poland with its staff of more than one hundred. This move has the advantage of reducing our operating costs while improving our ability to respond to customers.”
The Poland facility stocks a huge array of parts for M&R presses, dryers, and ancillary equipment manufactured in Europe and America. That inventory enables the facility to quickly fill orders for parts.
