Technical Writer

Technical Writer, full-time, exempt level position

Position Summary:

Create operating instructions, and technical support documents for PLC controlled electro-pneumatic screen printing equipment and industrial digital printing equipment. Overseeing technical publications department, and working with product managers, and department heads to gather data for documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications / Mechanical Engineering.
• Three years’ experience in technical writing.
• Experience in Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience with (CMS) Content Management Systems (M&R uses AuthorIT).
• General knowledge of mechanical assemblies.
• Experience in BOM structures and engineering change management.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Develop written instructional documentation for M&R’s full product range.
• Write, proofread and edit all documentation content.
• Conduct departmental interviews to gather data for documentation.
• Produce documentation that is compliant to the department’s workflow guidelines using templates
and processes to ensure quality and consistency.
• Photograph products to be used in operator’s manuals, specification sheets, and service bulletins.

M&R Screen Print Technician

Position Overview:

The position requires a Screen Printing Professional / Assistant who can work with our internal screen printing department and assist with all screen making related duties.

Preparing screens and supplies for industry tradeshows, customer print training classes, and assist with all duties tasked to the Screen Print Department Manager.

Candidate should demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain deadlines and has experience with Screen Making and Screen Print Machinery. Positive team player with attention to detail.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • General basic screen printing knowledge and pre-press screen making operations.
  • Screen making ability, retentionable /static frames, screen coating, screen reclamation.
  • Ability to set-up, break-down automatic/manual press, handling inks, squeegees, flood bars, screens.
  • Understands alignment of artwork, knowledge of exposure times and proper exposure principals.
  • Ideally, knowledge of computer to screen equipment and screen imaging.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Performs daily tasks, tradeshow screen preparations as assigned by department manager.
  • Organizes and keeps up with the work area to maintain stock of the screen cleaning, coating and finishing supplies.
  • Possible travels domestically and internationally to train customers on printing techniques as assigned. In addition, attend tradeshows and operate various types of automatic and manual screen printing presses.
  • Provide print training support when required and assigned by manager.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of equipment at trade shows, also assist customers and sales staff during said shows.
  • Maintains flexibility to help other staff members to strengthen team operations.

Field Service Technician – Digital and Textile

We are looking to add several Field Service Technicians throughout the U.S. to join our growing service team.

Position Overview
 The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment at our customer locations. The technician also provides training and telephone support for our customers, and participates in trade shows throughout the U.S.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Performs installations and repairs of company products as assigned by management. 
  •  Prepares detailed and timely reports on each service call.
  •  Extensive travel both domestically and internationally to perform these duties.
  •  Provides phone support and training to customers.
  •  Provides on call 24 hour phone support on a rotating schedule.
  •  Attends trade shows, assists in the set up and break down of equipment and supports sales staff.

 Qualifications and Skills
  •  EET degree in the field of electronics, licensed electrician, ASE mechanic, or similar background.
  •  One year minimum experience in the screen printing industry a plus.
  •  Previous relevant experience working with engineering, operations, sales, field service, remote office and general laborers within an equipment manufacturing environment preferred.
  •  Working knowledge of industrial electronics and associated components, proximity sensor, SSR’s, frequency inverters, servo amplifiers, PLC components, resistive heating panels, quartz bulbs and other related components.
  •  Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  •  Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  •  Well organized, detail oriented, good decision making skills and exceptional communication skills.
  •  Ability to work with customers and staff at all levels, and to uphold and support company safety standards at all times.
  •  Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  •  Must reside within 30 minutes of a major airport.
  •  Clean driving record and reliable vehicle. 

 Qualifications and Skills for Digital Positions
  •  Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, Rip software and file conversions
  •  Screen printing artwork preparation experience, general screen printing knowledge, coating screens, and working with emulsions.
