Junior Software Engineer – Digital Printing Equipment

Position Summary:The Junior Software Engineer will assist the R&D team with the support and development of software technologies that control our digital printing equipment. This role will involve working with a lead developer to implement and test program updates, manage version releases, and assist with integration to customer systems. The ideal candidate will be trained on operation of our printing equipment to gain a better understanding of how to improve the current software platform.
Responsibilities:- Tests software updates and provides a report of the findings
- Assists lead developer in troubleshooting and light coding
- Assists customers with integration / communication between their system and our equipment
- Provides support for additional development projects as needed
- Interfaces with the Service Department to provide specialized input
- Travels to customer sites to evaluate performance of the equipment in the field
- Assists in writing SOPs and guides
- Suggests process improvements
- At least 2 years work experience preferred
- B.Sc. in Computer Science preferred
- B.Sc. in Engineering (a plus)
- Electrical or Service certifications (a plus)
- Experience in Network Communication
- Knowledge of Cloud based platforms (AWS, Microsoft, Google)
- Knowledge of Python, Javascript, programming languages
- Knowledge of REST API
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- This position may require traveling up to 20% of the time
