Position:
Staff Accountant (Onsite)

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant at M&R is responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing and entering journal entries, reconciliations and reviewing expenses. They will also carry out relevant administrative tasks and any additional tasks directed by management. This role will begin on-site and convert into a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:
  • Monthly closing tasks: prepare and enter journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Variance analysis: review expenses by financial statement line item for reasonability during close, investigate unusual amounts and make any corrections as necessary
  • Monthly commission accrual, journal entries and report to Sales and HR in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure accurate accrual accounting and compliance with GAAP principles
  • Financial analysis and reconciliation to investigate variance to understand underlying details
  • Take on additional duties and/or responsibilities when asked
  • Assist with AP and AR processing when needed
  • Special projects: perform assigned tasks as directed by management
  • Perform additional tasks when necessary
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field preferred
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Knowledge of the process for recording, classifying and summarizing financial transaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Think critically and analytically and can think “outside the box”
  • Can work independently and within a team environment
  • Able to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Good follow-through ability with little direction needed
  • Has excellent attention to detail and follows instructions
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task professionally in a very fast-changing environment
