i-Screen (NuArc Imaging)
M&R’s i-Screen Computer-to-Screen (CTS) Imaging System uses specially-formulated i-Pak water-based UV-blocking ink and advanced high-resolution inkjet technology to generate opaque images on emulsion-coated screens. CTS images are superior to traditional film positives, delivering greater detail and smoother halftone transitions. And since i-Screen generates the image directly to the screen, there’s no need for vacuum hold-down during the exposure process. This, coupled with the fact that light doesn’t have to penetrate layers of film and glass, can reduce exposure time up to two-thirds. i-Screen also eliminates the need for costly film positives, as well as the space and labor required to store and retrieve them. Because the image information is digital, it’s easy to store and quick to retrieve.
The i-Screen System includes computer, monitor, and M&R’s i-Block RIP software. By providing complete control of print parameters, including the ability to print individual channels (1-8) or full composites at resolutions from 360 x 360 to 2880 x 2880, i-Block RIP ensures high-quality images at production-level speed. i-Block provides full image scaling and positioning, has presets for common applications, and can be user-customized for specific art types and various mesh counts. i-Screen accepts most static and retensionable screen frames in sizes up to 79 x 109 cm (31” x 43”) and is capable of producing image areas up to 64 x 93 cm (25” x 36.5”). And i-Screen’s compact design enables it to fit into most screen rooms.
Because it reduces screen-processing steps, minimizes screen handling, and produces greater image accuracy, i-Screen is able to deliver fast, accurate, and cost-effective screen imaging. Screens for multi-color jobs are quickly generated in perfect registration. Coupled with the appropriately-sized Tri-Loc pallet, which quickly and accurately registers the screens on the press, the entire process—from screen imaging to the first finished print—is dramatically shortened, with registration time reduced up to 95%. In fact, the combination of i-Screen and Tri-Loc results in the fastest, most accurate way to generate and register screens. Ruggedly designed, compact in size, affordably priced, and backed by the world’s largest network of service and support, i-Screen is the ideal addition to any screen-printing operation. |
